Hayden's 1st Hospital Stay

Poor baby! On Thursday night, Stephanie and Grandma Miller took Hayden to the emergency room because he was having trouble breathing (and he had a runny nose and a cough). They weren't expecting to learn (after him having chest x-rays) that he had pneumonia and that he was going to be put in the hospital. Mom called me Friday at work to tell me and I was heart broken; I just couldn't stand to imagine my sweet 18-month old nephew in a hospital bed hooked up to machines. As soon as I could leave work Friday, I was on my way to Mtn. Home to see Hayden. He was definitely under the weather and not feeling like himself on Friday, but by Saturday he was back to our little Hayden! It was hard to contain him in the little hospital room. It took all of us to entertain him and to keep him from running away from his 'pole' that was hooked to his IV. So sad to see him with an IV, but he was such a good boy. Of course, Aunt Ju-Ju had to take a couple of pictures of him during his first hospital stay....it was a sad moment, but definitely one I wanted to capture. I'm happy to say that they let Hayden go home late Saturday evening! He's feeling even better today!

Love this pic of Hayden in his hospital bed. He is so stinking sweet.

24-week appt and new baby gear......

We went for our 24-week appointment a week and a half ago. It was pretty uneventful.....had to drink the yucky sugar drink to test for gestational diabetes....thankfully, everything came back fine! I think everything is moving along as expected! The dr. said that my belly measured perfect and that Drew's heartbeat is really strong (it was 144 beats per minute this time)!! I'm feeling great and still have quite a bit of energy. I'm guessing that as I begin my third trimester (can't believe that its already here!) I will lose a little bit of that energy! We go back April 17th for my 28-week appt. Can't believe how fast time is flying!!!

Last weekend we went and picked up our car seat and stroller at the Baby's Room (they had to order them)! I've had my eye on them since I found out I was pregnant!!! Thanks Mike and Joyce for the car seat; we love it! While we were at the Baby's Room, Sam spotted the high chair that I have been on the lookout for....they had 2 left in stock, so we also left there with it too! See pics of the car seat and stroller below; I forgot to take pics of the highchair, but it is the same pattern as the car seat and stroller and looks great in our kitchen w/ our black dining room furniture!

We've been super busy lately...there has been something going on every weekend. Its not going to slow down anytime soon either! That's okay....trying to get everything in before little Drew gets here!!!!

Nursery Update.......

The nursery is finally beginning to take shape!!!! All of the bedding is done and it is BEAUTIFUL. There are some pics below, but they really don't do it justice. Also, last weekend Sam and his Dad built a cornisboard for the window, then Katie covered it with fabric for me this week, and then Sam's parents came back today to help him hang it in Drew's room! It looks unbelievable! Once again, the pics don't do it justice. I'm really excited with how everything has turned out!!! There are just a few things left to finish in his room.......still waiting on his 5-drawer tall dresser to arrive, have someone coming to talk about painting something (not sure what yet) above Drew's crib, got to paint and hang the letters to spell his name, gotta find a rug that matches the room, etc. Its all getting so close to be done....excited that I will meet my goal of May 1st!!!!! Thanks Ben and Viv for helping us with Drew's room!!! Enjoy the pics!

Samantha's Wedding

A few weekends ago Sam and I went to Malvern for Samantha's wedding! She was such a beautiful bride and it was a really happy day! So excited and happy for her! :) Got to see and catch up with some of my former BKD co-workers; it had been too long. Doesn't seem like that chapter of my life was really 5-6 years ago! Here's a pic of me and Samantha!

I'm EXHAUSTED...........

Wow! It was a fun weekend away, but I'm EXHAUSTED. Sam and I left Friday at noon and went to Mtn. Home where I spent the weekend at a scrapbooking retreat and Sam got to hang w/ his parents and catch up with some of his friends. It was so relaxing just to get away and do nothing (no housework, laundry, cleaning out cabinets, grocery shopping, etc.) but SCRAPBOOK. Although I didn't get quite as much accomplished as I had hoped, I had an incredible time with the Scrapbook Addiction group of girls and I learned so many new things! My new obsession is stickles (scrapbooking glitter glue). I know....I'm a DORK. I was ready to come home though - after 2 nights in a twin bed I was ready to get back into my king bed with my hubby!

I got to see my lil' Hayden on Sunday afternoon. That little stinker is getting so big and tall and has developed such a little personality. I hadn't seen him in a while and was afraid he wouldn't remember his Aunt Ju-Ju, but as soon as I walked in the door his face lit up with a great BIG smile. He is ALL over the place and is saying alot of words. He can name everyone in the family - Nana, PawPaul, Sam, Julie, Dada, Mama, Cotton, etc. He loves looking at pictures and naming who everyone is! He got to play in the snow with PawPaul; they were throwing snowballs at each other and he thought it was HILAROUS. Wish I would have captured it on camera, but I didn't have mine with me.

We go back to the doctor next Thursday (the 20th). I can't wait to hear Drew's heartbeat again! I think they will also measure my belly for the first time; I feel like it is starting to grow exponentially! I've now had people come up to me at work and ask when I'm due.....so I know I look pregnant!

Drew has been a really active baby lately (especially today). I think I felt him kick and punch at the same time today. It is such a surreal feeling; I love it. I can't wait for him to be here to meet him and hold him in my arms!

Sam and I are contemplating a 3-D ultrasound mid to late April. I just want to see our baby Drew again before he gets here! They say its best to come between 28-30 weeks. I can't wait!

Some of Drew's bedding is finished....I have his bedskirt, sheet, changing pad cover, curtains. It is all so BEAUTIFUL. Now we are just waiting on the bumper to be finished. When I get it all together I will post some pictures!

Guess that's about it for now! We've got a busy week ahead. Sam is busy w/ school before he heads into Spring Break next week. I'm busy with month-end at work. Thursday night we're going to a dinner party. Friday is date night and then Saturday we're heading to Little Rock for a wedding. Sunday we are cleaning out our nasty garage! Hope everyone's week is off to a great start!

I've been slacking...........

So I've heard through the grapevine that I've been slacking on my blog posts......so here you go Benny......this is for you!

It feels like its been a whirlwind of a week since we found out we're having a precious baby boy! Between all the shopping (yes, there has been alot), work, traveling to Little Rock, day dreaming about Drew, and keeping up with stuff around the house.......there hasn't been much time for anything else! I'm actually glad that Benny said something to Sam because it actually made me get on here and post! Sorry to call you out Benny - you know I love you!

Drew is becoming an active little baby. I've finally began to feel all his kicks and punches! My mom seems to think he's practicing his soccer kick! It is such an amazing feeling....I wish I could feel him kick all day.....and I can't wait for Sam to be able to feel his little kicks on the outside of my belly! I'm sure that will be soon enough. Can't believe I'm already 22 weeks today. Time is flying much faster than I anticipated and will continue to with all we have going on and coming up! I've posted a pic of my belly at 20-weeks above. I can't hide it anymore!

Sam has been super busy w/ school this semester. All of his classes are engineering related (except for his Death & Dying elective class) so it has been and will continue to be a tough semester for him. The exciting news is that after this semester he only has 37 hours left! Yay!!!!

Like I said, I've been doing quite a bit of shopping for Drew! My mom helped a great deal too! She's had alot of practice spoiling Hayden and she's off to a pretty good start with Drew (see the picture of clothes above - that's the damage me and mom did!)! Shopping for a boy is much more fun than I ever imagined it could be!

Our crib and changing table are set up in the nursery now (we're only waiting on the 5-drawer dresser)! I've ordered the bedding, curtains, etc. and they should be finished soon! I'm so excited to get everything set up in the nursery for baby Drew's arrival! It is going to be SO cute! There is a pic above of the crib!

Guess that's it for now - I'm off to an all weekend scrapbooking retreat near Mtn. Home this weekend. I'm really looking forward to finishing our 2007 family scrapbook!!!!!!!!

Congratulations Samantha!!!!!

This past weekend I went to Little Rock for Samantha's bachelorette party. Even though going out isn't that fun being pregnant (okay...i won't lie...its not fun at all), I had a great time catching up with Samantha and being a part of her celebration. I really miss that girl!!!! I also got to catch up with some old friends from BKD! And.....we went to eat at my FAVORITE spot in Little Rock - Juanita's......I had been craving their tamales!!!!!

Bennett's 5th Birthday!!

Well, I guess late is better than never! I've been meaning to post a couple of pictures from Bennett's basketball birthday party for at least the past 2 weeks, but with all our baby excitement time sure has gotten away from me! Here are a few pics. It was so fun watching the kiddies play basketball and watching Bennett open his presents with all the other kids swarming around with excitement. Too funny!
